Mikayla has an extensive background in dance, having trained and competed at a high level for many years. She was a member of the Division I dance team at Cal State Fullerton and previously trained at Orange Coast College, where she was part of a nationally recognized dance program and earned three national championships. Her experience in dance has provided her with a deep understanding of movement quality, biomechanics, injury prevention, and performance demands.
During her doctoral training, Mikayla gained experience across multiple clinical settings and developed a strong foundation in orthopedic rehabilitation, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered care. She is passionate about helping patients restore function, improve mobility, and return to the activities that are most meaningful to them.
Mikayla has a special interest in working with dancers, post-operative patients, and individuals with gait and balance impairments. She utilizes a movement-focused approach that combines functional assessment, targeted exercise, and individualized treatment planning to optimize recovery and performance.
She emphasizes building confidence in movement while promoting long-term injury prevention and sustainable results for patients of all activity levels.
When she’s not in the clinic, Mikayla enjoys staying active through Lagree fitness and dance. She also enjoys attending music festivals and spending time with friends and family.
