What Is Spinal Manipulation?
Spinal manipulative therapy, also known as high-velocity low-amplitude (HVLA) thrust, is a hands-on pain management technique grounded in manipulative and physiological therapeutics. It delivers a rapid, controlled movement to a specific spinal joint, restoring normal joint mobility and reducing localized pain, while improving neuromuscular function.
Is It Safe?
Yes—when performed by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, spinal manipulation is a safe, effective treatment. Before any manipulation is performed, we screen thoroughly for contraindications such as bone density loss, recent trauma, or vascular conditions. If spinal manipulation is not appropriate, we offer alternative manual therapy techniques that still provide relief without potential risks.
